Farmers—long viewed primarily as victims of climate change—are recast as climate solution providers. By shifting practices such as reducing tillage, planting cover crops, improving water management, adopting methods to enhance long term carbon sequestration, or agroforestry, farms can increase carbon stored in soils and biomass. This carbon is then measured, verified, and converted into credits that companies purchase to offset their emissions.
